Bernhard Svendsen, 68, Buried Sat. in New Folden Twp.
Services for Bernhard Svendsen, 68, lifelong Newfolden community resident, were held Saturday afternoon at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden with Rev. Loren Nielson officiating. He died last Wednesday at his farm home. Burial was made in Folden cemetery.
Mr. Svendsen was born Oct. 26, 1895, in New Folden township where he was educated and grew to manhood. He was drafted into the Army in World War I and served in this country and France for the duration of the war.
After his discharge, he was employed by the Strom Road Construction Co. of Moorhead and had been with the firm many years. The past few years because of failing health, he made his home with his brothers and sisters on the home farm near New Folden. He never married.
Survivors include three brothers, Hans, Norris and Oscar, all of Newfolden; five sisters, Mrs. Hans (Helga) Hanson, Mrs. Charlie (Thea) Johnson and Mrs. Even (Emma) Hanson of Newfolden, Mrs. Agnes Setterholm of Minneapolis and Mrs. Mary Pilon of Newfolden and several nieces and nephews.
