Addie Belle Brown was born on May 2, 1889 in Pleasant Valley Township in Dodge County, Nebraska, the fourth of 5 children born to William Robert Brown and Jane Ann Brown nee Watson.

When she was 18 she married Maurice Franklin Black, son of George Franklin Black and Laura Frances "Fanny" Black nee Remsburg, in 1908 in Dodge County, Nebraska.

Maurice Franklin Black and Addie Belle Brown had the following children:

OBITUARY

ADDIE B. BLACK

TONGANOXIE -- Services for Addie Belle Black, 91, Tonganoxie, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church, Tonganoxie. The Rev. Willard Black and the Rev. Ben Saathoff will officiate. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mrs. Black died Monday in her home. She was born May 2, 1889, in Dodge, Neb., where she lived until moving to Tonganoxie 51 years ago.

She was a member of the Smith Ladies Aid and a charter member of the Reno Ladies Aid.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Beulah Hall, McLouth, Mrs. Gladys Zimmerli and Mrs. Doris Gilliland, both of Linwood, Mrs. Ruth Putthoff and Mrs. Opal Kerns, both of Tonganoxie, and Mrs. Alta Wright, 1207 W. Fifth, Lawrence; six sons, Floyd, Denver, Rev. Willard, Caldwell, Idaho, Merle, Staten Island, N.Y., Wayne, Tonganoxie, Maurice M. Jr., Linwood, and Dale, Overland Park; 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Quisenberry Funeral Chapel, Tonganoxie.
