Son of Aldoph and Alexandra (nee Kulakowski), brother of Sophia Kocour, Josephine and Rose Musil.

Captain Apanasewicz was wounded half on hour after his division landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944. He was buried with military honors at Cambridge American Cemetery in England. He received the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army.

The officer was the only son of Adolph Apansewicz. He was a graduate of South High School, Western Reserve University and St. Louis University of Medicine. Captain Apansewicz, 28, completed his internship at St. John's Hospital in July 1942. He was commissioned a lieuternant and promoted to captain last Janaury.
