TUTTLE—Funeral for Lawdis Lee Gandy,69,Tuttle,will be at 10a.m.Tues.at Tuttle Church of Christ.
Mr.Gandy died Sat., May 24,2003,in Oklahoma City.
Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery,Anadarko,under direction of Steverson Funeral Home.
He was born Oct.2,1933,in Duncan to Elmo and Opal Stout Gandy.
He graduated from Anadarko High School in 1951 where he was president of the senior class.He was a member of the band and earned a special American Legion Award for playing taps for returning servicemen of World War II and Korea.
He attended the University of Oklahoma for three years and was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Band.
He joined the U.S.Army in 1957 and was stationed in Germany until 1959.After his military service,he worked as a reporter for The Lawton Constitution and Morning Press,and later for the Anadarko Daily News until 1969.
He and his father owned Caddo Bag Company in Anadarko until his retirement in 1990.
He married Helen Blasingame on July 23,1965 in Binger.They moved to Tuttle in 2001.He was a member of Tuttle Church of Christ.
