Turnkey Benjamin Graham, DSN 4143, was hired as a civilian employee with the Saint Louis Police Department on 06/03/1961 originally as a custodian in the Prisoner Processing Section. He remained in that capacity until he was promoted to the status of a Turnkey. As a Turnkey he was responsible for the movement, lock-down, safety and security of all of the prisoners at the holdover at Police Headquarters. He was eventually transferred to the Mounted Police Stables in Forest Park. At this location, Turnkey Graham was entrusted with the midnight watch duties and responsibilities of building security and the safety of the horses housed and used in the Mounted Police Unit. When he retired on 10/14/1996 he had 35.36 years of dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. (A nicer guy would be hard to find)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Turnkey Benjamin H. Graham (Ret.). Mr. Graham retired from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department in 1996 after dedicating more that 35 years of service.
