Officer Boley Hendricks, DSN 5361, was a former Police Officer with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. His career started as a civilian dispatching clerk on 10/06/1964. He resigned from this position to enter military service on 05/01/1966. He was rehired by the department on 05/27/1968 as a clerk with the Teleprocessing Division. He remained in this capacity until he received his commission on 02/21/1972 and entered the academy. After graduating from the academy he served in the following assignment's. They were the 2Nd, Mobile Reserve Division, and finally the 7Th District. During his career he was awarded 2 Chief's Letters of Commendation on 03/12/1976, 02/12/1988 and a Meritorious Service Citation on 07/09/1980. He was also the recipient of the departments highest award for bravery above and beyond the Call of Duty when he received the Medal of Valor on 11/15/1980. Officer Hendricks resigned from the department on 12/17/1988. At that time he had completed 16 years, 9 months, and 26 days of commissioned time with the department. His total combined civilian and commission times are equal to 24.2 years of service.
He was the Grandfather of Fourth District Officer Jennifer Hendricks. Officer Hendricks was also a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam achieved the rank of a Specialist 5Th Class.
