It is with great sadness that the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department announces the sudden passing of James E. "Jim" Davis.

Mr. Davis is the father of Second District Police Officer Terry Davis.

Jim faithfully served the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for 37 years as a civilian employee and will be missed.

Mr. Davis was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of Natural Bridge and Newstead Ave. when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. He was conveyed to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The female driver of the hit and run vehicle was subsequently located and charged by the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Mr. Davis was the son of the late Mr.& Mrs. Henry and Elnora Davis of Jackson Mississippi.
