Terrance Levi Martin
Birth: Jun. 3, 1979
Death: Sep. 27, 2003

Levi, as he was always called and our firstborn son, came into this world wide eyed and full of curiosity. As soon as he was born his eyes latched on to his dad and followed him around the delivery room. That was the way that he lived his life, full of curiosity and wonder.

He loved animals and his dream was to retire early and buy our place and fill it with as many cows as it would hold. He showed heifers while in high school and he was on the Land Judging Team that made it to National Competion. He fished and hunted every chance he got. The funny thing about his hunting was that he never killed or tried to kill anything and he had plenty of opportunity. I believe this was because he was so soft-hearted toward the animals that he preferred to see them alive as God made them. He always had a dog, even when I was against one, they always dug up my flowers.

It seems that he always had a smile on his face. In the pictures that we and others have of him in a natural setting, always show a smile or show him in a big "belly" laugh. As his mother, I thought that I was his strength but it turns out he was mine. I was always waiting to hear his voice or see his face while he had to razz me. It made my day. His favorite thing to say to me was "woman". At the beginning of anything he had to say to me he would add it, "Woman" what's for supper? Or " Woman" leave my hair alone. It was his endearment for me and I knew that I was loved by him.

He died doing what he loved. He was out in the woods riding four wheelers with his friends. Unfortunately people tend to be less careful when they are having lots of fun so what was a day of fun and laughter for him, became our worst nightmare. The world became a little bit gloomier when his light was turned off. He leaves an empty void full of pain in the lives of his dad and I, his brother Leslie Martin, his Nana and Papa Rita and Vernon Mayfield, his grandma and grandpa Hazel and Leo Martin, and many, many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister
Julene.
