Beloved son of Jonelle Lofton King.
Lonnie is buried beside his sister, Sandra King Anderson 80669968 near a wooden bench.
Funeral services with military honors were held for CPL. Lonnie R. King at Memorial Park Cemetery. A guard of honor composed of Marines from the Memphis Nanal Air Station at Millington took part in the service.
He was the son of Fire Department Captain Ralph King and Jonelle Lofton King. He was a graduate of Kingsbury High School.
The body of the 21 year old Memphian was returned to Memphis on March 7, 1966. He died at the military hospital at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.
Corporal King was wounded in Vietnam January 29 when his unit made a landing near Quang Ngai. He was the 18th Shelby County fighting man to die as a result of enemy action in Vietnam.
