Marvin served as a Motor Machinist's Mate, Third Class, USS Tullibee (SS-284), U.S. Navy during World War II.
He resided in Ohio prior to the war.
Marvin was declared "Missing In Action" when the Tullibee was sunk by one of it's own torpedos north of Palau during the war. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
