He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Scott.
Mr. Pool came to Montana in 1876 (or 1880) from Missouri via railroad to Butte and then to Helena in a six-horse stagecoach. He settled first in Confederate Gulch near Helena and taught school in Radersburg until he was elected to the legislature. He was a member of Montana's 1st and 2nd legislative sessions, representing Broadwater county. He later served as the 1st sheriff of Broadwater county.
He was a retired pharmacist, and lived most of his life in Townsend.
