Emily "Nue Nue" Comeaux
April 23, 1919 - October 9, 2010


Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Emily Comeaux, age 91, the former Emily Roger, who passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Regional Center on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 6:30 P.M. with her daughter, Judy and son-in-law, Errol, by her side.

Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Henry J. Broussard, pastor of St. John Berchman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Readers will be Barbara Richard and Kermit Menard. Giftbearers will be granddaughter, Lisa Menard Kaldis and Lisa's husband, Pete Kaldis.

Musical selections will be provided by Tammy Maturin, a friend of the family. The songs will be Amazing Grace, Isaiah 49, Just A Closer Walk With Thee, The Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thou Art, Be Not Afraid and Take my Hand, Precious Lord.

A poem titled "I Must Go Now" will be read by Barbara Richard and a second poem titled "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me" will be read by Sandra Trahan.

Ms. Comeaux, born April 23, 1919, was a native and lifelong resident of Vatican. She was a parishioner of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton.

Survivors include her only daughter, Judy Menard and her husband, Errol; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie Kaldis and her husband, Pete; one great grandson, Lex Michael Goulas; and one great granddaughter, Callia Marie Kaldis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louistan "Tan" Comeaux; her father, Angelle Roger, and her mother, the former Marie Trahan; six brothers, Theoville, Jesus "Pecan", Paul, Stanley, Ovey "Bosco", Ophie; and five sisters, Alice, Natalie, Edmonia, Marita and Irene.

Pallbearers will be Larry Broussard, Cody Leger, Roy Martinez, Kermit Menard, Hernan "Rog" Roger and Dr. Paul Roger. Honorary pallbearers will be Vic Meche, Terry Menard, Adam Royer and Beanie Trahan.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
