Funeral services for Miss Floy King, of 595 Colfax Avenue, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Reiser Chapel. Miss King, well known in the twin cities, died Sunday night at Mercy hospital.
Born in Sodus 29 Jan 1877 Miss King was a lifelong resident of this area. Her grandfather, the late Frank Versaw, was one of the first settlers of the King's Landing area near Sodus. Her parents were the late Dr. Joe King and Mrs. Rachel Versaw King.
The Rev. Howard A. Blanning, pastor of the First Congregational church officiated at the rites. Mrs. M. J. White was the organist. Members of the Ladies of the GAR attended in a group.
Casket bearers were Walter Kolberg, Dick Byers, Ed Prillwitz, Earl Steinle, Walter Versaw and John Stump. Burial was in Crystal Springs Cemetery.
Among the out-of-town people attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Don Graziano, of Jackson Mrs. Verna Jean Wince and daughter of Roanoke, Ind. and Sgt. Allen Billings of Arizona. Many others were present from the Berrien Springs and Eau Claire communities.
