Richard L Ric Eagon, 58, passed away suddenly after a recent medical problem. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born Jan. 7, 1949, he lived his entire life in the Castle Homes and Kenmore areas. He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1967 and had played on the football team.
Ric worked at the family business, Johns-Eagon Co., for many years, and when he retired from there he bought a small pallet company and then retired from there.
Ric was active at Barberton Speedway as a driver and car owner, and he loved NASCAR racing. He and his wife Linda had traveled to many races to watch them in person. He also loved playing poker with his family and his buddies and especially loved gambling at Mountaineer and in Atlantic City. He also was an avid bowler. His most recent joy was his black '79 Corvette--how he loved taking his grandkids for a ride in it, especially if they ended up at their favorite rootbeer stand!
Ric was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife, Linda (his high school sweetheart); his parents, June and Dick Eagon; and his brother, Jeff Eagon.
He is survived by his children, all of Akron: Jeff (Marie) Eagon, Nicole Martin, Amy (Jeff) Belles; and his grandchildren whom he dearly loved and totally spoiled: Brooke, Kyle, Juliet, Mason, and Carson; his sister, Teddy (Paul) Reese; sister-in-law, Beth Eagon of Florida; aunt, Betty Stevic of Shelby, Ohio; cousins, Don Stevic of Medina, Deb Stevic of Georgia, Beth (Ron) Kuhlman of Shelby, Ohio, Wendy Johnson of Norton; and special friend, Becky and family; plus numerous other relatives and a host of good friends.
Gone but certainly never to be forgotten, we will always be thinking of you!
Thank you to everyone who kept Ric and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
