Charles Burtts, 80, Bismarck, brother of the Dean of Record Correspondents, Mrs. Anna Corbin, died Monday, March 31, in a Bismarck hospital.
Funeral Services will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 10 am in the Boelter Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Knecht officiating. Burial will be in the Glencoe Cemetery, southeast of Bismarck. Pallbearers will be Basil Woods, Fred Harm, Ted Christianson, Pat Cox, Roy Bailey and Roy Russell.
Mr. Burtts was born July 7, 1888, in Emmons County. He grew up in the Livona area then homesteaded south of Judson in 1907. He lived there until moving to Bismarck in 1916. He married Shirley Suverly August 11, 1927 at Selby, South Dakota.
In addition to his sister, he leaves his widow and the following 4 sons and 7 daughters: George, William, and Charles, Jr. all of Bismarck; Clarence of Derby, KS; Mrs. Ben (Violet) Clooten and Mrs. Arlen (Judy) Bailey, both of Bismarck; Mrs. George (Ruth) Snyder of Newberg, OR; Mrs. George (Lorraine) Clooten of Oregon City, OR; Mrs. Joseph (Harriet) Schantz of Naches, WA; Mrs. Ralph (Arlene) Auch of Orangevale, CA; and Mrs. Russell (Jean) Knowlen of Mobridge, SD. There is 1 stepson, Joseph Fogarty of Newberg, OR, 52 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
