Born about 1599 (aged "about 25" on 9 July 1624), son of William and Anne (_____) Hatch. Came from Sandwich, Kent, to Plymouth Colony in 1635 on the "Hercules" & settled in Scituate MA. (On 17 March 1634/5, "W[illia]m Hatch of Sandwich, merchant, & Jane his wife," with their children "Walter," "John," "Will[ia]m," "Anne" and "Jane," with a certificate of conformity from "Mr. Tho[ma]s Gardener, Vicar of St. Marie's in Sandwich," and along with five servants, "W[illia]m Holmes," "Joseph Ketchrell," "Simon Ketcrell," "Symon Sutton," and "Lidia Wells," were enrolled at Sandwich as passengers for New England on the Hercules). Died in Scituate 6 November 1651 (as "Will[ia]m Hatch, Senior and elder").
MARRIAGES: (1) By about 1623 _____ _____.
(2) 9 July 1624 (license) Jane Young, aged "about 27." She married (2) at Scituate on 31 March 1653 Thomas King, and she died at Scituate on 8 October 1653.
William Hatch was brother of ELIZABETH SOANE {1638, Scituate} and of THOMAS HATCH {1638, Scituate}. (The latter should not be confused with THOMAS HATCH {1633, Dorchester}.
