Harry Byron Brown, 85, of Melbourne Beach, FL. He was a 20 year U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Cimarron as a corpsman with the First Marine Division in the South Pacific during WWII and is a recipient of the Purple Heart. He served in the China Marines as well as the United States Submarine Service and on the submarine Odax. He is a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans, China Marines, DAV, VFW, American Legion and James Island Masonic Lodge 396 AFM and Omar Shrine, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Surviving are his wife, Mary B Small Brown; children, Virginia (Richard) Bartel of Charleston, SC, Dr. James A. (Carolyn) Brown and John G. Brown of Charleston, SC; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held with full military honors provided by the U.S. Navy at a later date.
