Oct 2nd. --- Our people were shocked Saturday morning to hear that Dr. E. H. Trask had been found dead his bed that morning. Our people have sympathized with the Dr. in his affliction for the past few years and while they all felt that the end was not far off, yet he had ministered to them so often in their afflictions that their hears clung to him as they only will to those who forget their own trials in their efforts to advance the welfare of others and they all hoped that the end was not yet.
Edward was born in Camden, Oneida county, New York, June 23, 1832. Moved with his parents to Lousia County, Iowa, when but ten years old. Studied medicine with Dr. Brass and attended the Eclectic Medical Institute at Cincinnati, commenced to practice medicine in Iowa in 1856, came to Terre Haute in 1863, remained here until 1873, went to Dallas City where he lived three years, then went back to Iowa where he lived until 1880 when he returned to Terre Haute, where he has since lived and practiced medicine until his health failed two years ago. He was converted under the preaching of Rev. Bowlin in 1876 and joined the Free Baptist church of Terre Haute, of which he lived a consistant member. He always took an active part in all church work until his healt failed.
He died Sept., 29th, 1894.
