Death Claims A.W. Brougher Saturday
(May 9, 1942)
Arthur W. Brougher, 79, a native of Ohio and a resident of Clyde Park and Livingston, died at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Henry Hudson on South Main.
Brougher had been in ill health many years. He was stricken about six years ago and had been an invalid since. He made his home with his daughter for about the last five months.
Brougher was born on July 1, 1862, and came to Montana many years ago. He was a rancher in the Belmont county north of Billings for 10 years before moving to Clyde Park to make his home.
At Clyde Park he operated the confectionery store for seven years. He was stricken ill while residing in Clyde Park and later came to Livingston to make his home.
He was a member of the Clyde Park Methodist church.
Surviving relatives include his widow, Mrs. Grace Brougher; four daughters, Mrs. Merle Jeffries, Mrs. Helen Gilbert and Mrs. Bernice Hium, all of Clyde Park, and Mrs. Jessie Bratz, Fort Benton, and two sons, Percy L. Brougher, Bell, California, and Floyd A. Brougher, Butte.
The body was taken to the Pemberton funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at the Clyde Park Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Mr. Hunter. Interment will be in the Clyde Park cemetery.
Brougher Rites to Be Held Here Today
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Clyde Park Methodist church for Arthur W. Brougher, 79, who died Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in the Clyde Park cemetery.
Brougher, a native of Ohio, resided on a ranch in the Belmont country north of Billings for 10 years before moving to Clyde Park, where he operated the confectionery store for seven years.
He was stricken ill six years ago and for the five months prior to his death had been given hospital care by Mrs. Henry Hudson of South Main. The Pemberton funeral home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
