Services for Alphord Denham, 83, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McLish Avenue Church of Christ with Ben Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Born March 18, 1922 at Brock to the late Will B. and Phoebe J. Hudson Denham, he died June 9, 2005 at Houston. He married Rita Lucille Early Sept. 16, 1944 at Ardmore. She preceded him in death Feb. 21, 2000. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frankie Eudy and Emma Lois Bural and a brother, W.B. Denham.

A resident of the area all of his life, Denham served in World War II with the U.S. Army. After returning home he went to work for the refinery and retired from Total as an operator after 25 years of service. He was a rancher. He was a member of McLish Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Walter, Porter, Texas, and Wayne, Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Shirley Joy, Ardmore; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Wayne, Walter, David and Trey Denham, Donald Teague and Scott Story.
