Leo P. Brunette, 69, died at the Maine Medical Center, Portland following a short illness. He was born in Sanford, ME on January 21, 1939. Leo was one of eleven children born to Albert & Irene (Costello) Brunette, and was educated at the former St. Ignatius School. He was employed for many years at Wasco Products and later at Seamloc Carpet Co., retiring from there due to ill health.
Leo was a parishioner of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford, ME. He enjoyed playing pool, cards and especially cribbage. He was a big sports fan and loved the Red Sox and Patriots. He served three years in the Army National Guard, was a life member of the Wolves Club, also was a member of the Sanford K of C, and a member of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Rudy and Roland, and two sisters Lorraine Skillins and Joyce Dube.
At the time of his death, Leo is survived by six sisters, Shirley Libbey and her husband Richard Sr.; Sylvia Marsh and her husband Clifford; Terri Baker, and Paula Robichaud all of Sanford. Rita Ricker and her husband Herbert of Berwick and Linda Millett of Alfred; and long time friend Nancy Hussey with whom he resided, and many nieces and nephews.
