Enlisted 12 May 1862 at Abbeville AL (ALSO 10 May at Lawrenceville); Appears on Muster Roll of Co. H dated 12 May 1862 at Auburn AL; Died in service of pneumonia at Lauderdale Springs MS on 10 or 15 Oct 1862; Claim for deceased soldier filed 22 Dec 1862 to wit Court documents filed by his mother Elizabeth Glover in Barbour County, AL:

"On this 22nd day of December 1862, personally appeared before me the subscriber, A Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid, Elizabeth Glover who, after being sworn according to law, depose and says that she is the mother of William J. Glover deceased, who was a private of Captain M. Searcy's Company 37 Regiment of Alabama volunteers, commissioned by Colonel J. F. Dowdell, in the service of the Confederate States in the present war with the United States; that the said William J. Glover entered the service at Abbeville in Henry county and State Alabama on the 12 day of May 1862 and died at Lauderdale Springs, Ms. on or about 15 October 1862 leaving no child or father"

H); Cousin to Nathan F Glover (Co. A); Cousin to John R Glover (Co. H); Nephew to Samuel D P Glover (Co. H)
