Death of Mrs. Rachel Cavalier this morning in her 92nd year
Mrs. Rachel Cavileer, an old and honored residence of this city, and a relict of a dead and gone century, died last (Tuesday) evening at the family homestead, corner of High and Spring Streets. There was no specific disease, death being rather the result of the breaking down of extreme age. She was born in Northumberland County, PA July 20, 1795 and was therefore in the 93rd year of her age. Her maiden name was Rachel Treece, and she was married to Charles Cavileer, long since deceased (m. July 10, 1815), The later was in his day, one of Springfield's most prominent citizens. The deceased was an excellent woman and raised a family which was a credit and honor to her. The funeral will occur Fri. Sept 9 at 4 o'clock p.m. at No. 84 East High St. The friends of the family are invited.
