Anna J. Holmquist Lyght, 90, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1921, in Velva, N.D., the daughter of Herman and Nora (Lyght) Lukenbill. She received her education in Kalispell Schools.
She loved crafts of all kinds, bowling volunteering for RSVP, camping, huckleberry picking and baking — she baked many wedding cakes.
She married Nels Holmquist on Aug. 5, 1944, in Havre. She worked as a cashier for Buttrey's Department Store and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was active in her church, Central Bible Church, as well as serving in the RSVP program and the Senior Center.
On Aug. 28, 1997, she married Donald Lyght in Redding, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Nels Holmquist, and her second husband Donald Lyght; three sisters, Edna Rexford, Thelma Rales and Lula Lukenbill; and a brother, Frank Lukenbill.
She is survived by her three sons, Vern Holmquist and wife Joyce of Scottsdale, Ariz., Wes Holmquist and wife Pam of Kalispell, and Ed Holmquist and wife Shirley of Vancouver, Wash.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Anna will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6, at Central Bible Church with Pastor Ron Youde officiating, with burial to follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be given to Central Bible Church, 905 First Avenue East, Kalispell, MT 59901; or the Kalispell Food Bank, 1203 Hwy. 2 West. Suite 2, Kalispell, MT 59901.
