On Sept 26, 1876, George and Mary A. Moore's wedding vows were solemnized in Green Co., Tennessee. From this marriage Mary gave birth to 8 known children. They were : Melinda R. Kite 1878; Polly A. Kite 1880 1941; Eliza E Moore 1882 1930; John E Kite 1885; Ettie L Kite 1888; Samuel L Kite 1893 1971 Sumner J Kite 1895 and Noley P. KITE 1898 1899.

In 1880, George and Mary were living in District 11, Greene, Tennessee. There first 2 children had been born and he was a farmer.

On Sept 28, 1898 their son Noley was born. He lived almost a year. A week before his first birthday he passed away.
The cause of his death is unavailable. A burial plot for him was chosen at the His grieving family gathered at the Mount Carmel UMC Cemetery, to lay their precious little one to rest.

By 1900, George and Mary had purchased and paid for home and farm in District 7, Greene, Tennessee. Two of the children were in school and the other two were too young for school.

Sept. 29, 1902, was a devastating day for George. His dear Mary A. Moore Kite had passed away. History doesn't tell us the cause of her death. Her body was prepared for burial and George gathered his family and friend close around him as they bid his beloved wife to "Rest in Peace". (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)

On larger marker with George Kite:
"Their prayers and songs, we used to hear, we'll hear on earth no more, but hope we'll hear them sing again, on Canaan peaceful shore."
Note: There are two markers for Mary A. Kite, and they are side by side. One is a single marker with just her information, and the other is a double marker with both her and her husband's (George Kite) information.
