"Harold J. Bentley, aged 68, of Worcester, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 23, at his winter home in New Port Richey, Fla. He was born August 7, 1897, in Fayetteville, Ark., the son of Dr. William and Susan (Prescott) Bentley. He married Emma Roseboon on February 21, 1925, in Westford. Mr. Bentley was graduated from Ohio University at Athens, O., and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a representative for the Metropolitan Insurance Company for over 20 years and was retired ... Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. C. Edward Lawrence of Warrensburg; two sons, T. Prescott Bentley of Wilmington, Del., and L. C. D. R. Granville C. Bentley in Naples, Italy; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Richard Bentley of Cicero and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday from the Skinner Funeral Home in Worcester, with the Rev. Alden Pratt of Cooperstown, officiating. Burial will be later in Maple Grove Cemetery."
