GLEN ROBERT NELSON

Born September 2, 1916 in Canon City, Colorado, passed away June 24, 2006 in San Ramon of Emphysema. A resident of Livermore for many years, he was 89. Mr. Nelson was a graduate of Canon City High School Class of 1935; and attended college in Ft. Collins, CO; and was a student of Watchmaking in Denver, CO; was a W.W.2 Army air Force Veteran serving from 1941-1945; a member of Mt. Mariah Masonic Lodge #15; married his wife, Margaret in 1955. Mr. Nelson worked at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, CO and was a Maintenance Machinist at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab for 23 yrs., retiring in 1980. One of Mr. Nelson's passions was raising and showing Registered Quarter Horses and enjoyed taking his daughter, Tracey to the Quarter Horse Shows statewide; he enjoyed and never missed a sporting activity that his grandsons participated in; Mr. Nelson loved to garden and grew fabulous roses; and later in life he was an Oakland A's fan. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife of 51 yrs., Margaret Nelson, daughter Tracey Lamee (Robert) of Livermore, sisters Nina Newton of Canon City, CO and Carmen Fox of Canon City, CO, 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Christopher Lamee of Livermore. Graveside Inurnment Services will be held on Saturday, July 1, at Canon City Cemetery, Canon City, CO. Contributions or donations to a favorite charity. Callaghan Mortuary (925) 447-2942.
