Liza Catherine Clady, 17, New Bavaria, died Wednesday morning, July 4, 2007, from injuries sustained in a single-car accident on Henry County Road Y, between county roads 17 and 18 in Pleasant Township.

She was born April 24, 1990, in Defiance, the daughter of Andrew and Lynn (Swary) Clady. She had completed her junior year at Holgate High School and was a member of its volleyball and track teams. She was a member of the school's basketball team, an All-Conference, All-District and All-State selection and voted MVP of the Holiday Classic Basketball tournament during the past season. She was a lifeguard at the Holgate village swimming pool and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, where she was an altar server.

Surviving are her parents, New Bavaria; three brothers, Drew, Ross and Owen, at home; grandparents, Forrest Clady of Holgate, Carolyn Clady of Holgate and Paul Swary, Ottawa; and great-grandmother, Erma Clady, Napoleon.

Preceding her in death was a grandmother, Tabbie Swary.
