Patrick McCarty born in 1805 in Kells, County Meath, Ireland d and passed away in1864 in Walnut, Pottawattamie Co, Iowa. He married Mary Kellet on 24 Oct 1831 in Kells County, Meath, Ireland.
In 1845, Patrick with a family of 10 children 7 boys 3 girls came to the U.S. landing in New Orleans the 6th day of February 1846. Two years after coming to the U.S. another son was born. Patrick and Mary might of had one son who died in Ireland and another that died at sea. Patrick purchased a farm in Daviess Co Indiana.

The following is the information on the known names of six of sons and one of his daughters. Four of the son's names were James, John, Matthew and William. There is no other information on them and no known descendants.

One son, Patrick Henry McCarty married Elizabeth R. Morgan aka: Lizzie on Apr 1861 in Montgomery, Daviess Co, Indiana. They had 6 sons and 5 daughters who were raised in the Sheldon Iowa area.

Another son, Michael McCarty married Mary Catherine Fitzpatrick on 13 Feb 1871 and they had four sons and five daughters and they were raised in the Walnut, Pottawattamie Co, Iowa.

The one known named daughter was Margaret McCarty who married George Valentine Mullen on 19 Sep 1858 in Logootee, Martin Co, Indiana. They had four sons and four daughters and were raised in the Walnut, Pottawattamie Co, Iowa.

Patrick passed away about 18 years before Mary but his burial location is unknown.
