|Birth: ||Mar. 3, 1854|
Born in Georgia, "Cage" Christian married Mary Ann Mobley in 1879. They moved with her family to the Oak Hill area of Bastrop County about 1882.
Cage was murdered in the presence of his wife by a group of what was probably part of the vigilantes operating around McDade. According to the story told by his wife, he was accused of having told about the activities of the group. Cage was out riding a horse, with his wife up behind him, when they encountered a group of men. Cage stepped to the ground, but before he was given a chance to explain his side, he was shot dead in her presence.
