Gregory James Brown, 54 of Freeport died Thursday May 6, 2010 at his home.

Greg was born May 12, 1955 in Beloit, WI he was the son of Irene (James) Penwell and Theodore R. Brown Jr. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Vietnam from 1973-1977.

On March 3, 1979 Greg and Judy Boomgarden were married in Freeport. Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, car shows, woodworking and photography. He worked as a self employed carpenter and was a member of the NRA.

Surviving are his wife Judy of Freeport; his mother Irene of Yellville, AK; daughter Angie Curtiss of Scales Mound; son Patrick (Kristina) Brown of Freeport; two grandsons Adam and Hunter Curtiss of Scales Mound; two sisters Dawn Nath of Yellville, AK, Anita (Jim) Hendershot of Beloit, WI; two brothers Daymon Brown of Siren, WI, Gerald Brown of Yellville, AK; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceding him in death are his father, step father James and brother, Timothy.


Memorial service will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with the Pastor Alan Cassel of Bailyville Baptist Church officiating. There will be no visitation, cremation rites have been accorded. Entombment of remains will be in the Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum.
