Mrs. Catherine Patterson
Catherine Williams Patterson, 83, wife of John W. Patterson and long-time resident of Tenassee Trail, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Ward and the Rev. Mary Noble Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
The Williamson C0unty native was the daughter of the late Will T. Williams and Ola Crawford Williams. She was employed by the Williamson County Extension Service during World War II. She was a member of the Annie White Circle of the Maury County Union of King's Daughters, a volunteer with Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer Super Star. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ayres-Whitney Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nancy (Bobby) Cummins of Manchester and Mrs. Joann (Bob) Knight of Alexandria, VA.; one sister, Alma David of Tullahoma; and two granddaughters, Mary Cummins of Glendale, Calif., and Amy Cummins of Murfreesboro. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Caroline Williams. Pall bearers will be Cam Anderson, Jerry Battles, Ray Hickman, Ed Thomas, Matt Battles, Bill Royster, and Bronston Boone. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Frank Wilkes, Dr. Abe Mason, John Satterwhite, J. Earl Gilbreath and members of the Ayres-Whitney Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or The King's Daughters' School.
