Mrs. Rita Tumbrink, a retired former manager at the Chase-Park Plaza Hotel, died Tuesday, April 27, 1993, at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights after a brief illness. She was 69.
Mrs. Tumbrink, of University City, began her career with the Chase in 1967 as an assistant reservation manager. She was later appointed reservations manager. She was leasing manager of the Park Plaza Hotel apartments for about 10 years before she retired last year.
She was born and raised in University City, Missouri. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Frontenac.
She was married for 40 years to William F. Tumbrink; he died in 1986.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church in University City. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Virginia Rita Tumbrink's is survived by her sons, William H. (Karen), Terence M. (Nancy), Mary G., Timothy M., Dan, Patrice M., and Matthew P. Tumbrink, who were left to mourn her death.
She was predeceased by her three sons: a baby boy during pregnancy in 1951, Thomas M. Tumbrink in 1982, and Peter M. Tumbrink.
She was the daughter of the late George M. and Mary (née Helmes) Kreps. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie C. Kreps.
