Lt. David R. Bell, son of Mr and Mrs John J Bell of 42 Grace Street was one of five Army fliers killed in the crash of a medium bomber near the Raleigh-Durham Airbase.
Lt. Bell a Bomber navigator is a graduate of Our Lady of Sorrows School and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Drum Corps. He was graduated from Hartford High School in 1941 and was employed at the Aetna Insurance Company before enlisting in the Air Corps in Feb 1943.
Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters, Miss Pauline W and Miss Helen M. Bell, and two brothers Corp. John J Bell in England and Robert M Bell of Hartford
