Command Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Amos Goodin, 44, of 3366 Ervin Lane, Lot 35, died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday in Reynolds Army Hospital. He suffered an apparent heart attack Tuesday in his home.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the New Post Chapel, Fort Sill, with Chaplain (Capt.) Jack Moyer officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Post Cemetery under direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Goodin was born Nov. 17, 1927 in Corbin, Ky. He entered the Army on Feb. 27, 1946. A veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, he retired from military service on March 31, 1972. His last duty assignment was the 4th Headquarters Detachment, Field Artillery Training Ceneter, Fort Sill.
He married Neva Marple in Lawton in 1950. He had managed the Erwin Trailer Park since his retirment. Mr. Goodin was a member of the Baptist Church and Mt. Scott Masonic Lodge 540. He was a Lawton resident for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jackie (Deborah) Cunningham, 1410 S. Fifth; his father, G.W. Goodin, Woodbine, Ky., six brothers, Lonzo, of Woodbine, A.T. and Coyt, both of Cincinnati, Malcolm of Montgomery, Ala., H.B. and Fessor of Louisville, Ky.; four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Simmons, Memphis; Mrs. Roy O'Nan, Louisville, and Mrs. Jack Scalf and Mrs. Ima Jean Alsip, both of Cincinnati.
