Professional baseball player 1888-1899. Played for the Chicago White Stockings, Chicago Pirates, Cincinnati Porkers, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Browns and the Cincinnati Reds.
Manager of the Detroit Tigers for the 1902 season. He briefly umpired in the National League in 1899 and 1901 and in the American League in 1904.
