J. Crawford "Jean" Butts, died Nov. 23, 1998. He was born May 22, 1920, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the son of Barney and Marie Butts, graduated from Shawnee High School, the University of Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City University Law School. He was a C.P.A. and a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, a vice-president for TG&Y, a past president and lieutenant governor of Kiwanis, past master of his Masonic Lodge, an elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he also taught Sunday School for 25 years. He served his country with the US Army in World War II as a Field Artillery battery commander. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beebe; one sister, Mary Lou Myers of Long Beach, New York; two daughters, Lynn Preston of Boulder, Colorado, Melissa Miles of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, two step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Vivian Cannon Butts, daughter, Kathryn Butts, and stepdaughter, Betsy Beebe McGonnell. Memorial serve at Westminster Presbyterian Church Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at 2:00 PM. Memorial gifts may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church of the American Parkinson Disease Association.
