HICKSON Charles E. Hickson Sr. 80 of Gautier, MS passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 in Ocean Springs, MS. Mr. Hickson was born in Jones County, MS to the late Robert and Venna Hickson on April 16, 1931. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded 5 major battle stars, an achievement he took great pride in. He loved fishing and was a New Orleans Saints fan in good times and bad. He was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife, Blanche. He is survived by two sons, Charles Hickson Jr. of Gautier and Curtis Hickson Sr. of Jackson; three daughters, Brenda Hynum (Bill) and Sheila Hynum (Burton) both of Vicksburg and LaTisha Hurd (Joseph) of Gautier; a brother Bobby (Bill) Hickson and a sister, Mary Ainsworth ( Glenn) both of Sandersville; 10 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier. Graveside service will be Thursday at 1pm at McGill Cemetery in Sandersville, MS.
