Services for Arthur Roberts, 91, Route 9, who died Tuesday at his home, will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. J. Leland Simbox officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 amd 7-9 p.m. Thursday, until noon, Friday, at Johnson-Boman Mortuary, and one hour before services at the church.
Mr. Roberts was born May 27,1890, in Judson Township. He lived all of his life in Blue Earth County. He married Etta Eakin Sept. 1, 1917. He was a farmer, retiring in 1947. He was a member of the rural Zion Presbyterian Church until 1935 and then was an active member at Zion Presbyterian Church on State Street. He was an elder of the church, and had taught Sunday School for many years. He became a member of the Minneopa Cemetery Board in 1917 and was the cemetery secretary until 1980.. He had been on the Minneopa State Park board for many years and was also a member of the Mankato Lodge No. 12 A.F. and A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Etta; two daughters, Ruth L. (Mrs. Charles) Otto, rural Mankato. and Ann L. (Mrs. Burton) Meyer, Mankato; two sisters, a twin, Anna L. Roberts, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Ethel Kuentzel, Lakeland, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Sgt. John Dean Roberts (U.S.M.C.) in 1945; two brothers; and one sister.
