JAMES ROBERT MCCLURE of Mill Creek passed away in a Sulphur hospital Monday, Feb. 21, after a short illness. Funeral rites were held from the Pentecostal church at Mill Creek Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 22, with Rev. JOE KIRK officiating. Pallbearers were CLAUDE GADDIS, PIERCE QUINTEN, HERNY HOWELL, JESSE GARRISON, RICHARD PITTMAN, and CHARLES RENEGER. Interment was in the Drake cemetery directed by Dunn funeral home. JAMES ROBERT MCCLURE was born May 25, 1874, in Wise County, Texas. He spent his early life in Texas, coming to Oklahoma about 1892 and lived in this area., residing at Ardmore, Sulphur and Mill Creek. Mrs. McClure passed away July 6, 1946 and one daughter also preceded him in death. The family includes sons, CLAUDE and JOHN MCCLURE both of Ardmore, JIM and LEE MCCLURE of Sulphur HUBERT MCCLURE of Mill Creek; daughters, Mrs. BESSIE COOK of Mill Creek, Mrs. LIZZIE ROUNDTREE of Troy, Mrs. JOAN PITTMAN and Mrs. AGNES QUINTON of Mill Creek, 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
