EVELYN A. STERNAD age 85 of Brecksville passed away on December 4, 2012, surrounded by her family. Proud of her Polish descent, she was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 23, 1927. Evelyn was the daughter of John and Anna (nee Oranski) Ploski. Evelyn graduated from South High School in 1945 and attended Ohio University. She and her beloved late husband Edward raised a family of seven children after which she began a successful career at the City of Cleveland. After 30 years with the City, she retired in April 2012 from her position at the Community Development Land Bank .

While her career was important to her, Evelyn most loved being with her family. She took great pride in and was committed to teaching life's lessons to her 21 grandchildren. She also greatly enjoyed cooking and shopping for all of her family.

Beloved Wife of the late Edward R. Sternad.

Great-Grandmother of Mia, Anderson, Braden, Nolan, Annalise.

Dear Sister of Norbert Ploski, Eleanor Wolodzko (deceased), Florence Skala (deceased), Mildred Schauer (deceased), cousin and aunt to many.

Funeral Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the FORTUNA FUNERAL HOME 7076 Brecksville Rd. (1/2 mile north of Pleasant Valley Rd.) followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil the Great Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on THURSDAY from 3-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland 44110 or The Leprechaun Foundation, 7035 Columbia Road, Olmsted Falls, Ohio 44138 would be appreciated.
