Research suggests birth surname may have been "LUNGREN" and Joel was taken in and raised by Henry Ferree TROUT. Biological father "may" have been Garrett LUNGREN, born circa 1815.
Research continues.
Although Y-DNA testing proves no biological relationship, Joel is often associated with Line #1, Johann Wendel Georg TRAUT in the TROUT-DNA Research Project.
