William S. Appleberry (Applebury) enlisted as a private at Marysville, California, November 1, 1864, and was mustered into Company K, 7th California Infantry, November 7. He was transferred to Company I November 24. Private Appleberry was posted to Arizona Territory. He returned to California and was mustered out with his company at the Presidio of San Francisco, March 31, 1866 (Orton, 790, 793). William filed for a Civil War veteran's pension in Arkansas August 5, 1892, and received application No. 1,124,407 and certificate No. 881,836.
