Edgar Wilk, 79

Edgar Philip Wilk, 79, of Bremerton, passed away from cancer on Oct. 27 at Harrison Medical Center.
He was born on June 16, 1928 in Cleveland, OH to Ford and Lorna (Tyler) Wilk. Edgar attended and graduated from East Technical High School in Cleveland, OH 1946; Ohio University in Athens, OH 1952; University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK in 1972. He completed a BS in Civil Engineering and a MA in Economics.
Edgar served in the US Marine Corps from July 19, 1946 to July 18, 1948. Edgar then married Brenda K. Mills on Aug. 17, 1967 in Odessa, WA. He then worked for the Dept. of Defense as a Civil Engineer for Facilities Management for 38 years and retired in 1991.
His work stations included California, Japan, Berlin, West Germany, Washington, D.C. and Bremerton Naval Hospital.
Edgar was a member of Silverdale Lutheran Church, Kitsap Golf and Country Club, Sigma Nu Fraternity and was a senior volunteer for Central Kitsap School District. He enjoyed and had a life-long interest in geography and history through travel and/or reading.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray T. Wilk. Edgar is survived by his wife, Brenda of Bremerton; son, Philip A. Wilk (Charlise Tiee); daughter, Alison T. O'Sullivan (Vilas); sister in law, Margaret Wilk; granddog, Sunny Belle; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on November 5 at Silverdale Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be privately held at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
