Elizabeth Beauchamp, Countess of Warwick was born in Berkeley Castle, Berkeley, Gloucestershire to Thomas de Berkeley, 5th Baron Berkeley and Margaret de Lisle, Baroness Lisle.

Elizabeth was just ten years of age when she married Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick and son of Thomas de Beauchamp and Margaret de Ferrers. They married before 05 October 1397 by a covenant dated Sep 1392. The marriage remained unconsummated for at least 6 years, but eventually they had three daughters:
* Margaret, wife of Sir John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury
* Eleanor, wife of Sir Thomas Roos & Sir Edmond Beaufort
* Elizabeth, wife of Sir George de Neville
