Mrs. Sherwood Taken By Death Here Early To Day.
Beloved Young Matron Succumbs After Lengthy Illness; Funeral On Thursday
Mrs. Georgia Rose McCarty Sherwood, beloved wife of Henry
Sherwood, Passed quietly away this morning at her home in
Gordon Tract after an illness of six months duration.
The death of the prominent Napa matron occurred at 7:00
o'clock.. At her bedside were her husband and her mother,
Mrs. Anna J. McCarty of Sparks Nevada, who hurried to
Napa upon learning of the serious condition of her daughter.
The demise of Mrs. Sherwood will be keenly felt by scores
of devoted friends and her bereaved husband will have
the greatest sympathy.
With her husband, Georgia Sherwood came to Napa from
Sparks in 1919 and since resided here.
She was born in Pueblo, Colorado on Jan. 31, 1892, and
became the bride of Henry Sherwood in 1911. During her
residence in Napa, Mrs. Sherwood be came affiliated with
many organizations. She was a past noble grand of the Ivy
Rebekah Lodge and member of the Canton Auxiliary,
the Browns Valley Social and Improvement Club, the
Neighbors of Woodcraft, Napa unit No. 113, American
Legion, auxiliary, and Murr Bush Auxiliary to veterans of

Although funeral arrangements have not been completed
the services will be held at the Webber funeral parlor
Thursday at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon and will
be conducted under the auspices of the Rebekath Lodge.
