Mrs. Marian Gaffney Chestnut, 43, of Sedalia, Mo., and formerly of Springfield, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at a Sedalia hospital after an illness of eight months.
Mrs. Chestnut was born in Springfield, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gaffney, and attended Springfield schools.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Larry, and a daughter, Patricia, both at home; and five sisters, Mrs. Avis Hartwig, Mrs. Vera Patterson and Mrs. Hester Reed, all of Springfield, and Mrs. Verla Bell of Jacksonville and Mrs. Helen Lloyd of Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Ewing Funeral Home, Sedalia, Mo., with burial Friday afternoon in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.
