Katherine Stanley was daughter of Thomas Stanley and Joan Goushill was born in Stanley, Derbyshire, England, and died in, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. She married Sir John Savage in 1447 in Clifton, Cheshire, England
In addtion to their eldest son John this couple also had:
Thomas Savage, bishop of Rochester 1492, then London 1497, then Archbishop of York 1501 and died 1508, his body being buried at York and his heart at Macclesfield in Cheshire, where he built a chapel at the side of the church and intended to have a college there:
