Son of Thomas Swynnerton and Maud de Holand. Husband of Elizabeth Beke, father of Maud Swynnerton Savage.
Knight, 4th Lord Swynnerton, Alstonefield, Quarnford, Rushton, Spencer, Staffordshire, and Great and Little Barrow, Cheshire, Staffordshire, England. Knight of the Shire for Staffordshire bu never summoned to Parliament. His dispensation to marry Elizabeth de Beke was dated 1364, the marriage took place in or before 1356. Robert and Elizabeth were related 4th degree by kindred. Robert was pardoned for outlawry in 1370 and provided protection going overseas in Oct 1374.
Elizabeth and Robert had one daughter, Maud, who would marry John Savage.
Secondly, Robert married Joan Hameldine, and had one son, Thomas.
Robert was "probably killed by the fall of a tower at Brest, Brittany, when in the retinue of John of Gaunt."
