Thomas C. Schneider
Thomas C. Schneider, 79, of Curtisville, West Deer, died Thursday (Oct. 28, 2004) in Outlook Pointe Nursing Home, Saxonburg.
Born Jan. 21, 1925, in Pittsburgh, he lived in West Deer since 1986. Previously, he lived in Knoxville.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a private first class with the 82nd Airborne Divison, and the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Before retiring in 1986, he was a shipper/receiver for 27 years for Penn Needle Art.
Mr. Schneider was a member of East Union Presbyterian Church, West Deer, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pittsburgh.
Survivors include a son, John T. Schneider of Curtisville; three daughters, Nancy Lowish of Cincinnati, Lynn M. (Gregory) Yaworski of Creighton, East Deer, and Patricia A. (Tim) Hartman of Curtisville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Schneider of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jeffrey Lowish and Sandra Schneider; his parents, William Louis and Annetta Parrish Schneider; and a brother, Francis Schneider.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
